Dani Gal about working with recordings with historical significance

As part of the ifa exbition „FUTURE PERFECT. Contemporary Art from Germany“ Dani Gal’s interactive sound installation „Architecture Regarding the Future of Conversations“ (2008) includes two turntables playing both sides of an American vinyl record with conversations by famous architects in the 1950s. When the exhibition’s visitors move throughout the room, the speed and volume vary. This evokes a different approach, a game of movement in space, but also generates an abstract sound composition. In his studio Dani Gal talks about this work and other recent video projects.
